# Atelier

> Atelier ("Atelier: Family & Studio" on the App Store) is a gallery app for iPhone, iPad and Mac for the things worth keeping: children's drawings framed on a gallery wall, your own graphic design laid on a lit designer's desk, personal pictures, and public-domain masters. It is local-first: the pictures and their details stay in a folder on your devices and are never uploaded to the developer.

Made by groov creator limited, the makers of Biblio (https://biblio.ink). There is no web app; https://atelierapp.live is the homepage.

## Platforms

- iPhone and iPad: iOS and iPadOS 18 or later.
- Mac: macOS 15 or later, from the same App Store download.
- One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.
- App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6814269582

## What it does

- The wall: scan a drawing with the camera; the app finds the page, straightens it and evens the paper white, and hangs it framed at the size it was made, under museum light. One photo of several drawings becomes several works. The wall runs oldest to newest with a marker at each new year. A caption keeps the title, the child's age when they made it (or each maker's, when a work has several), the medium, and where the original is kept.
- Collections and sets: works can be gathered into collections, chosen as they are kept or afterwards. A collection set to hang together hangs on the wall as one block under a plaque with its name.
- The studio: design work lies on a light table and publications stand face-out on shelves. Pieces can be picked up and set down elsewhere.
- The mood board: the desk seen from above, with sticky notes, lines of type and frames that export as a PDF at real size.
- The masters: search The Metropolitan Museum of Art's open collection and keep public-domain works with the museum's own record. They hang on a wall of their own in gilt frames.
- Search by title, maker, tag, year, medium, or colour.
- Bring pictures in from the camera, Photos, Files, a shared link (including posts on X) or a museum. On the Mac, drop files onto the window or paste.
- Share a picture of a room as a Story or a Post: the app's own view of the wall or studio, framed around the work or set being looked at, with the room's name or the work's title and who made it (never an age). It goes only where the person sends it.
- Family sharing: mark a child as shared and invite family through iCloud; they see new drawings as they arrive and can add their own.
- Vaeda, the curator: on request, suggests a title, a few lines and tags for a work, running on the device with Apple's Foundation Models where Apple Intelligence is available.
- Optional reminders on the day a drawing was made, years later, scheduled on the device.
- Optional link to Biblio: recent books stand on the studio shelves.
- Publishing (beta, free): a collection, a wall, the studio or a mood board can be published as an unlisted page at atelierapp.live/r/<id>, seen by anyone with the link, using the Biblio account to sign in. A published wall can be walked in 3D in the browser or seen as a grid. It can be updated or unpublished at any time.

## Data and privacy

- No account needed, no ads, no likes, no feed. Publishing alone signs in with a Biblio account.
- The archive is an ordinary folder, visible in the Files app: the original files exactly as they were added, never re-encoded, each with a work.json of its details. It can be exported at any time and imported on another device.
- With iCloud Drive on, the same archive appears on every device of the same Apple Account. Family sharing uses iCloud (CloudKit).
- Pictures, titles, names and dates are never sent to the developer, except for a collection the person chooses to publish: then a copy of each picture made for the page (without location, camera or date data), its title, year and size, optionally the makers' first names, and for a room where each work hangs, are stored on Cloudflare until unpublished. Works shared with the family may be published so wider family can see them. Stories, tags, ages, films and saved inspiration are never published. The app sends coarse, anonymous usage counts.

## Pricing

- Free for the first 30 works, with every room, the mood board and family sharing included.
- Unlocks are one-time purchases, never a subscription: Family (unlimited children's and personal works), Studio (unlimited design work and inspiration), or All access (both). Either unlock includes the masters.
- Nothing already added is ever locked. Prices are set per region by the App Store.
